BME Regulatory Services is the BME Spanish Exchanges company responsible for operating regulatory compliance services derived from national and European financial legislation.
The financial legislation, which has been taking place over the last few years, imposes a set of increasingly complex and extensive obligations on investment firms. In particular, MiFID II, which will enter into force on January 3, 2018, will impose new transparency and transaction reporting requirements on investment firms, both in a trading venue and OTC.
MiFID II implies greater requirements than MiFID I, extending among other aspects, the universe of financial instruments and markets subject to transparency and reporting obligations.
Likewise, MiFID II involves novelties in the Systematic Internaliser regime, since it introduces thresholds from which an entity automatically becomes a Systematic Internaliser and, therefore, it is subject to the corresponding transparency regime.
With the aim of facilitating compliance with the aforementioned obligations for its clients, BME Regulatory Services will act as a single window for the provision of said regulatory compliance services.
